Hi everyone-I plan on opening up my WX-1 and was wondering if
there's any tricks to opening this up and getting to the cassette belts?! :hmmm:
I plan on cleaning the decks and checking & sizing up the belts.
Just wondering if anyone has done theirs and what to expect.

I appreciate any input on this, thanks! :-)
Jeff. :-)

Pretty straight forward. I took mine apart. You should get a long philips screwdriver for the job. Nothing too big. Be careful with the light, on mine the green cover that makes it green crumbled off. Now I gotta find some green LED's now so I can mod it. Cassette decks come out with I believe 4 screws as well. Good luck.

Thanks JBoogie!
I have the long Phillips, just was wondering what
to look out for.
I'm going to do some interior cleaning &
clean & lube the cassettes.
Hoping to get belts soon as I'm sure mine will
need them.
Have a good one & thanks again!! :-)

Nothing really special about this one. Is not tricky. The tech dudes who made it back then were thinking about easy servicing  . Good luck.

Thanks for the advice.
Not a problem-5screws and removing the knobs and 2 top screws
and wha-la!

Getting tape A out and cleaning up,no problem
like you said 4 screws and an easy out.
Tape B a little harder but just a little finagling
and I got it out to clean up.
But dummy me forgot that tape B isn't working
so I forgot to test and figure out the problem.
But it's clean inside now and I know what to
expect now when I open it up again. Not bad
working on this.
Just need to get belts and antennas soon so it
will be working on both cassettes.
Sorry no picks-just dial up and my phone.
Will be In restoration thread in a couple weeks.
Have a good one!! :-)
