I'm having a little trouble with this unit. I had a few pointers already on getting some Detoxit and trying that. As I'm waiting for that to arrive in the mail I just wanted to describe the symptoms the box is having. The Left channel is totally out but if I crank up the slider I can hear faint audio on that side. The tape deck seems to work fine but I also noticed that the actual speed of the tape is a little slow on playback. Looking for options to decide if I should just replace the belts as well? Looking to find some help and maybe a PDF of the manual too, thanks!

I would spray deoxit cleaner in all switches and work them back and forth 20-30 times each. Just make sure you get spray into switch especially function and band. The probably needs a good cleaning with fresh belts

Belts:
Small flat belt 10.2"
Square belt orbicular 3.5"
Square belt orbicular 6.6"
Square belt round 4.2"
Google and you should find plenty of suppliers.

If you run across issues with disassembly, or need exploded views of mechanism, you might want to refer to the service manual. You can obtain a copy here:

Don't mean to bump it but I finally go the time to take this box apart and give it a thorough cleaning with the Deoxit. I noticed the left side is still out after cleaning the sliders.
Anyone want to have a go at this or can someone direct me to where I should be looking? I know it will probably take me more time and I'm handy with soldering/DE-soldering. I just would like to have the left side working again. I can hear faint audio and did do a continuity check with the leads as well as trying the right speaker on the left side too. I know it's probably more trouble than what it's worth but I have allot of sentimental attachment to this thing! Thanks for all the help so far..

To be honest the dead channel could be almost anything. But it's quite likely it could just be a dry solder joint - google it to see what they look like, and use a magnifying glass to find them.
