best batteries ??

Free ones! 
I've received many of my boomboxes both in the wild and from eBay with fully charged alkalines so I've yet to have to buy any. When I run out of the freebies I want to get some rechargeables so this is a good question.

These are the best batteries I've used:
$120 for 20 on ebay in February 2011 and theyre still going very strong today, quick to recharge and last weeks in any boombox.
These can't be beat for performance day in day out!
I'm sure they're rebranded as something other than Beecroft in the u.s.

I just use Duracell's, when they go on special i buy boxloads/hundreds of them which ties me over for a long, long time!

I love me them Duracells 
For all my radios with 12V inputs, I always carry in my bag a 12V 7Ah lead acid battery (gives more than 5 hours of cranking in te streets, skate parks or basketball courts).

I've been running Duracell Copper Tops lately. No complaints at all. Love'em and they LAST!
I have been using Energizer rechargeable batteries, but they are only 2500 mah's so they don't last very long.
Rick, I need to look into those badboys. Holly was telling me you pointed her towards them. 11000 mah's is serious shiat!

heres a story
some fat bum
got 8 new copper tops and put them in his lasonic 931i and used 2 old batteris
this worked for about 10min then there was no sound
next time he mite put in 10 new batteris lol

I thought about these, my question is how do they compare to regular alkalines in two categories:Reli said:
1) How long do they last fully charged compared to alkaline?
2) Does them being 1.2v instead of 1.5v like an alkaline affect performance?

7Ah Lead Acid is only 7000mAh and is really heavy. But when ~5h is enough and you are really strong, why not! 
I'll use 18650 Li-ion cells (like in laptop and Tesla car batterys). They are only a bit bigger than AA batterys and 3.7V/1500-3400mAh. I recommend Panasonic NCR18650 3400mAh cells. Downside is that you need charging controller and DC-DC boost converter but they are cheap ~1€/$ pcs.
