Hi everyone-I recently got a Sharp GF-800 for cheap and unfortunately
there was some smoke damage and I do think this was in a fire because
there was a layer of smoke filth on all components inside to

Now it works and the decks weren't working but after cleaning the belts
and pulleys and lining the shafts the decks work freely now.
But the switches were so dirty that after cleaning the pots and switches
The right side is still really faint.

I want to clean everything including the circuit boards but what is the
best way to clean the circuit boards and basically everything.
I'm going to take this fully apart later to clean it all but am still trying to figure out how to get everything out of the psarchophogous!

I did get the tuner out and the cassette decks come out most of the way
But need to get the whole assembly out,any suggestions?
I may be able to figure it out but if anyone has taken this model apart
I'd appreciate some help.

I believe the components may get hot or not function correctly with
This suit layer on everything.

I'll try to take some photos soon to show what's going on.
Have a great one-Jeff. :-)

Thanks and have a good week-Jeff. :-)

Thanks for that!
This should help,I just haven't figured out how
to take the nylon plug out if the tuner for example.
There's some kind of clip on the side and I almost
pulled the wires out of it moving it around!

This is one of those boomboxes from hell!

I just may pay someone to fix this,I found out
It has a weak power supply!
I'm having trouble with it as I just don't have a
Lit up workbench area and this sucker is-well
I don't like it! :-O

I hate boboxes that distort, half way and it's
distorting and when working on getting the tuner
Out the AM doesn't work now! :hmmm: :annoyed:

I will try to get a small needlenose pliers on
That tuner clip and hope I can get the am back in.
The am was working and I'm not happy I may have
Messed that plug up!
I'm going to do a tech post and see if someone
Wants to fix this.
Have a great one!
GB. :-O
