well guys after recently aqquiring an 8190 off a mate of mine i have noticed that the eject button is stuck on,and whenever you try and play with it it seems to be 'connected' with the timer standby switch too-my mate says its probably just stuck fast with muck and crap in there-i wanted to ask on here before ripping into her as its my favourite box and dont want to risk dammaging her inside-what do you reckon it could be,and secondly is it an easy fix-im only fairly amateur when it comes to internal electronics.i believe the belts are going to need doing too-how easy are they on this model?all info will be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know the answer to this as I've got exactly the same problem with the same model...the pause and the timer/standby buttons are stuck down. I had a look inside and I can't see what the solution is! Thanks

Most mechanical pause buttons are actuated by a spring and catch, much like a clicky ballpoint pen. I'd say open it up and get a better look, then report back.

I agree, I've seen them pop off as they are only held in place with tension....

Thanks for the tips...had another look at mine and although initially it was jammed solid I just moved bits around until it released! A bit more jiggling and it moves freely. I did find a spring rattling around the bottom of the box and replaced it afterwards but it didn't seem to be related (though who knows). Think it was just jammed, though when I got this box it still had its rotting batteries in it which had made a right mess so not surprising things weren't running smoothly!...good job it was cheap
