Well guys, some of you know I wanted to get my i931 box graffiti'd because of how ugly the original Rap Up decals were from Lasonic  . I figured this would be the best one to try out because it can easily be replaced if I ended up not liking the art.

So, I got ahold of a guy on craigslist that did airbrush work for t-shirts and signs and asked if he wanted to try out his work on a boombox case.

He gladly said yes that he would love to and now a week later I have a wonderful piece of artwork to pick up tomorrow. Just got the email that it was finished.

Original:

Scuffed and primed:

Now, before the clear coat , removing the masking, and the assembly:

Gotta admit that's pretty dope and certainly an improvement over that Rap Up bullsh!t.

1000% agree. At first I didn't mind the Rap Up decals because I thought they were kind of funny.... but it was like Halloween costume funny, and that humor wore off quick and I wanted it to be different.

I am also VERY stoked to see what it looks like all together and with the masking tape peeled off  :hmmm:

Thanks guys, I'm not afraid to take this thing out now.

I can't believe the look after the clear and the chrome bits are back on it  .

I still have to clean up some of the masking lines. One of my masked text areas must have got sanded through when he was prepping the box where you select the "function" and the couple buttons to the right of it. I will have to either gently scrape at the paint there or try a small tad bit of thinner on :-/ .

Either way, I am 100% happy I did it. If any of you want a price from this artist, let me know. He said he would love to do more. This size box, just the front cover with speaker grills was very cheap. I did the masking so he could just do his work and not have to worry.
