welcome to the site alot of times with cleaning funtion swtches with deoxit will cure it unless its something more serious then the average joe can do...but using deoxit cleaner most of the times takes care of that ,,u have to know that for that disasembaly is in order ,to get to those switches
Monchito is right! In most cases deoxit will take care of the problem. After applying Deoxit the band switch needs to be turned several times AM, SW and FM bands so that it gets inside the contacts and work. I used deoxit FaderLube F5. It lubricates also besides cleaning the contacts. Don't let the overspray get on the transport rubber belts or rubber wheels. You need to get it from the both ends of the band switch.
So far, no luck with Deoxit, On this particular model, the band switch is a 4-position paddle-type switch, not a rotary switch. Not sure if that makes a difference in terms of potential fixes.
I have a JVC RC770JW. The tape works but there is no sound at all from fm/am/ and the other 2 bands. Checked the fuse and its fine. Sprayed deoxit everywhere needed, still nothing. Any thoughts?
