Lasonic 931 seems dead

My Lasonic 931 is missing the radio/tape knob and won't turn on. Otherwise the condition is great, any ideas on obvious stuff I could try?

Problem with these is if you get a unit with the faulty switch you will not be able to adjust between radio, tape and input or you may not be able to have preference of am, fm or shortwave

try ac, batteries and dc and check for a fuse

For powering up check to make sure switch on back of box is set to either ac/dc. Also you may need a serious cleaning of switches including power. Deoxit or switch cleaner with just a small amount sprayed into switch or pot and working back and forth can bring back from dead state

So did anything work for you? If you have a multimeter, measure the power coming out of the internal powersupply. If there's power there then the issue is further down the line. By no function switch do you mean there is actually something wrong with the function switch or just the knob is missing? The next thing I'd suspect after the power suppy would be the function switch and power button, they seem to be abe to get dirty enough to totally kill these things.
