I remember reading some years ago that it is rumored to sound almost as good as the JVC M90. I personally have no experience with one though, but if I were to get one, I'd go for the silver version.

What area of East Tennessee? :-)

Thanks, I live in Sevierville TN.
Sweet! I know exactly where that is. I'm just south of Nashville. Welcome aboard!

I heard on at 71Spuds's house.
I agree with Bobby,it sounds very similar to the RC-M90 and just as loud. :agree:
And like Chris said the TV part is basically useless here in the U.S. due to digital tv.

Thanks everyone, yeah the TV part would be pretty much wasted now. Still wish some things were still analog. The best sounding guitar stomp boxes are the old analog ones. I am surprised it would compare favorably to the M-90, possibly the case's depth?

Hey there, I did a comparison once and posted results up on stereo2go but unfortunately can't seem to find the page anymore. Anyway, In terms of loudness, both the M90 and 3090en (the black version) were capable of similar volumes. Both were tested to halfway on the volume controls. The 3090en was more 'hifi' while the M90 had an ever so slim edge in terms of bass, probably due to the size of the drivers. Anyhow, there was not much between them and would be happy with either. I ended up getting rid of the 3090en and keeping the M90 purely for the 'coolness' factor. Hope this helps!

It's always a pleasure to hear from beatbox. Sort of like a little kid waiting for a chance to see Santa Claus. :-D

I am sorry, I cannot see a 3090 being as loud as an M90.

I have one, in near-mint shape, and yes it sounds very good, but it ain't no M90. I'd say it's nearly the same level as an M9994 (but not quite).

BTW, did any of you manage to play video through yours?

Hope so.. Its no simple task (especially if this is a euro box like mine), but with a handfull of converters its possible. Here is my German Sharp playing video from a DVD player.

Not only did I have to convert the video but with the sharp I also had to use a phono attenuator for the audio!

European to coax. that goes from boombox to this converter found in every goodwill in the country

then to pal to Ntc conversion (ebay purchase)
1431649485749.jpg
then to source.

sorry this is backwards order from boombox to source but you should get the just.

Luckily the old channel frequencies for analog 3/4 are close enough and translate to channels that are on the boombox. Can't remember what it was but you can google it
