Hi Folks,

I recently scored a nice Clairtone 7978 ( the 20/20) that is in good shape except for the tuner glass, which has a small but visible crack and some assorted scuffs, etc. Has anyone ever replaced this part, and does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for any help or advice you can provide!

To get the old tuner plastic out, I soaked it in really hot water for about 30 minutes. That helps to loosen the glue that was used to hold it in place. I just used the clear, plastic sheeting (found in poster frames) to replace mine. Yeah it's not original, but it works. :-)

I think I may have done mine the hard way.
I soaked mine in the tub but it didnt loosen up.
I took a dremel to it with a cut off disc to get it out.
And then hot glued a donor part in place.

While you are in there you should replace your bulbs with some nice LEDs
