Got a great Sharp CD boombox today-a GX-CD130.

Paid $20 for it.

Features:
-twin cassette deck
-beat cancel
-tone control
-X-BASS bass boost
-2 way, 4-speaker system
-speakers are detachable
-AM/FM radio
-CD player
-headphone jack at the back

It weighs 7.1lbs (3.2kg).

The speakers:
-2-way bass reflex system
-10cm woofers
-tweeter

Cassette section:
-TAPE1 is used for recording/playback
-TAPE2 is for playback only

Sound quality is amazing-especially the bass when X-BASS is on: very loud.

Though I have a lot of blaster,I only have one Sharp. For some reason, they seem not too common,at least in these parts. What is its rated input watts? Are the tweeters cone style or the metal disc type?In the more recent years designers have figured out how to get tight clean bass from lighter weight cabinets.Bass seemed to be the focus of these companies with amazing results!

I have numerous 3 piece boxes similar to this Sharp. Some have pretty impressive sound.Over time though I had a tough decision to make.My collection was growing quite rapidly as '90s and '00 boxes are currently most of what are donated to thrift stores. For the sake of space,I had to refocus on what got me into this hobby in the first place. This was a love for the more powerful INSANELY LOUD classics of the '70s and '80s that had lots of highs.Unfortunately these have become very difficult to find in the wild.

Now I am having to pass on boxes as cool as your new Sharp :-/ .Believe me it's hard to leave them behind but I only have so much room.Mostly I try to grab oldies off of Ebay.If I do find post 80s boxes at thrift stores I like for them to have input jacks for MP3.Some '90s boxes had those but most did not.Interestingly, manufacturers have begun to put a stereo headphone style input on some current models which serve the same purpose.Unfortunately their current offerings are so tiny and under powered, this makes no difference to me.I miss the days of even the moderately powerful boxes of the '90s.These 3-piece mostly black box types like your Sharp are looking very dated and will be more and more collectible as time goes by.Just try to find anything as good currently in production. They're just not out there anymore..

No fear to save "noncollectible" units.
If you like it - get it!

Found a time ago this strange SCHNEIDER.
No CD, but 8way speakers. :w00t:
The look is a littlebit.... :hmmm:
But the sound is very well!

This AUDIOTON i would also qualify as "trash box".
But it owns digituner and surround sound.
